Gatro began his career in Israel in 2000; though "out of the closet" in his personal life, in professional life he remained closeted for several years, and sang love songs using feminine second-person pronouns, becoming a teen heart-throb. In 2002, he left Israel to study acting in Los Angeles. Two years later, in 2006, he returned to Israel, began using masculine second-person pronouns in his love songs, and in an interview, came out of the closet publicly. |
